Pamela Peterson
Pamela offers her uniquely beautiful artwork to grace your home or workplace.
Born in South Bend, Indiana, Pamela moved to Santa Cruz, CA in 1984. She is a world traveler with a special love for the ocean and cultural studies. These features are apparent in her art. Her mixed media pieces utilize gorgeous imported papers, lush fabrics and found objects. Looking at them will transport you to another place or another time. Pamela's vision is to create beauty that supports sustainability. To that end, she uses upcycled and repurposed materials whenever possible.
Her love of words evidences itself in her emerging series of collages based on visual plays on words. For example, "Coat of Arms" portrays a topcoat sporting 9 different arms, set against a regal background. Her varied careers have included: special education teacher, college professor, cooking school owner, newspaper food columnist, writer, and education consultant. She and her husband, Mike, have found their forever happy place and souls' home in Santa Cruz. Having their daughter, Heather, and son-in-law, Damion, living in nearby San Jose completes their lives beautifully.
